Amongst all the doom and gloom of current news, it’s always good to embrace the good news stories. And this month, the good news is really good news!
It’s been officially announced by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that our economy will grow at a much faster rate than predicted.
With 2017 having been predicted just a 0.9% growth in October 2016, it’s now been doubled. This means this year is expected to see the economy grow by 2%. This is brilliant news for businesses across the country, and in particular the services sector who have seen the biggest increase. It will also be interesting to see how these predictions may change as the Brexit negotiations take place – so stay tuned.
However, there are reasons to be wary still. Consumer spending and investment is down and the effects of these may not have been seen to the fullest yet. So be cautious, but certainly be hopeful.
