Supporting Chichester’s New Athletics Track

As a local accountant, we’ve always believed that supporting our local community is just as important as supporting our clients. So we’re very proud to have played a small part in bringing a fantastic new sporting facility to Chichester.

For many years, we’ve enjoyed a close relationship with Chichester Runners & AC. For over 30 years, we’ve proudly sponsored the Club’s Corporate Challenge – a series of evening road races through Chichester city centre, welcoming runners of all ages and abilities. From 1,400m races for primary school children to the 4.5km adult race, it’s an event that brings together local businesses, schools, families and the wider community.

Now, after many years of planning and fundraising by Chichester Runners & AC, the city has gained an incredible asset – The Phil Baker Athletics Track at Chichester College. We’re delighted to have supported this exciting project and to see it become a reality.

A New Home for Local Athletes

Running on a purpose-built athletics track offers a completely different experience from running through parks or city streets. The smooth, all-weather surface allows runners to concentrate fully on their technique, pace and performance, without worrying about uneven ground, traffic or pedestrians.

The new Phil Baker Athletics Track is a 300-metre training facility with a high-quality all-weather surface, featuring three 900mm-wide lanes. It’s available to be booked by anyone, making it a valuable resource for athletes, schools, clubs and the wider community.

Celebrating the Official Opening

The track was officially opened on 28 June 2026.To celebrate the occasion, Chichester Runners & AC invited members to take part in an afternoon of accurately timed 300m races, giving runners the chance to experience the new facility.

Supporting Our Community

As a local accountancy practice, we enjoy supporting organisations that make a lasting difference to Chichester. Chichester Runners & AC has been doing that since 1984, growing into the city’s oldest, largest and most diverse running club with around 400 senior members, 150 junior members and approximately 30 qualified coaches and run leaders.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making The Phil Baker Athletics Track a reality. We look forward to seeing it inspire the next generation of runners and athletes across Chichester.
